Reece’s ‘The Works’ is more than a workplace—it’s an experience centre that fosters connection, promotes innovation, and reflects Reece’s brand, culture, and history. Located in Cremorne, Melbourne’s hub for digital and creative industries, this space seamlessly integrates a showroom, hospitality, learning areas, and workspaces for Reece’s clients and staff.
To bring this vision to life, Reece collaborated with Asentis. Involved from the early stages of the project, Asentis worked closely with Futurespace and Schiavello to craft two bespoke staircases that embody Reece’s brand and culture.
The experience begins on the ground floor, designed as a retail environment showcasing Reece’s products and services. A striking spiral staircase connects the showroom to Level 1, evoking fluid, liquid movement. Designed by Futurespace, this staircase reflects water and plumbing themes, encouraging seamless navigation between levels.
The communication staircase links the working floors from Level 1 to Level 5, facilitating Reece’s hybrid work model focused on agility and flexibility. This staircase features a round mid-landing with a radial view of the workspace, promoting visibility and connectivity. Copper pipes running underneath the staircase further reinforce the water and plumbing aesthetic.
The interior design incorporates key behavioural elements and cutting-edge technology to support hybrid working, a response to the changes brought in work culture. Wellness is a central focus of the environment, with initiatives promoting holistic wellness and sustainability available on each floor. The implementation of a custom-designed water wells link to an app which encourages and tracks staff water consumption.
Reece’s experience centre is a collaborative, open environment that strengthens connections among employees, customers, and leaders. The design positions Reece as a tech leader in innovation and design while staying true to the company’s rich culture and history.
