First Sentier Investors, a globally-focused investment company, rebranded their Sydney office at International Towers, Barangaroo, to reflect their core values of empathy, consistency, and transparency. The office was designed as a state-of-the-art workplace, with sustainability and well-being central to the concept, aligning with the firm’s 6 Star Green Star and WELL Gold aspirations.
Working with these principles, the design creates a simple, elegant journey through the workspace, using natural light, layering, and the careful integration of nature. Materials celebrate the Japanese philosophy of “wabi sabi,” highlighting handcrafted elements and subtle imperfection through light timbers, tan leather, handmade ceramics, and accents of deep green. This approach establishes a warm and balanced environment that feels human and authentic.
At the heart of the office, a sculptural staircase by Asentis encourages movement between floors while enhancing connection within the space. Generously proportioned and designed for gentle, effortless use, the stair complements the interior’s calm, layered aesthetic, blending seamlessly into the workplace while reflecting the company’s commitment to quality, thoughtful design, and employee experience.
