Asentis’s Melbourne team designed, fabricated, and installed a custom curved metal staircase that connects Levels 22 and 23 in Beca’s Melbourne Quarter Tower office. Strategically positioned at the heart of the space, the staircase enhances connectivity and supports Beca’s open, collaborative workspace ethos.
Inspired by Gray Puksand’s vision of “A Place of Possibility,” the design reflects themes of balance, connection, and innovation, aligning with Beca’s values. The staircase encourages movement and interaction across key zones, promoting collaboration and engagement in both meeting and workspaces.
Incorporating sustainable practices, the staircase is built from low-carbon materials, including granite, recycled plastics, cork, and spotted gum veneer. These choices reinforce the cultural and environmental goals of Melbourne Quarter, minimising waste and enabling future disassembly. Asentis worked closely with Beca in the early stages to create a design that connects people, culture, and the environment while enhancing sightlines and promoting a wellness-focused atmosphere.
