Working closely with Bates Smart during the design phase ensured the seamless integration of their vision into the final construction, resulting in a striking staircase that embodies innovation and craftsmanship.
The project, located in the historic Orica Building, involved a meticulous process led by Bates Smart to revitalise levels 6 and 7. This included a complete de-fit of the existing spaces, allowing for the creation of a stunning integrated steel staircase that now elegantly connects the two levels. The transformation also encompassed upgraded mechanical and fire services, along with an opulent fit-out featuring bespoke joinery and intricate metalwork packages.
While every detail of the studio reflects Bates Smart’s signature minimalistic elegance, the staircase is undoubtedly the centrepiece. Its state-of-the-art design showcases precision engineering and artistic ingenuity, symbolising the studio’s commitment to pushing boundaries in design.
The completion of this project marks the culmination of the Orica Building’s revival, achieved through a collaborative effort with Charter Hall and Neoscape Pty Ltd. Asentis is honoured to have been a part of this journey, bringing to life a staircase that not only enhances the functionality of the space but also serves as a striking architectural feature.
