The Bahrain National Theatre, which seems to float in the waters of the lagoon creates a cultural hub in the centre of the Bahrain kingdom. Designed by a collaboration of international design and architectural teams: Architecture Studio and Atkins. The theatre is an area of 12,000 square meters, where artistic and cultural dynamics come together in the centre of Bahrain.

Internally, connecting the whole building where ‘sky meets the sea’, is an organically curved staircase. Encased in elmwood for its outstanding acoustic properties, is reminiscent of the inverted hull of “sambuks,” historic sailing ships previously utilised for pearl fishing, which is still a world-renowned local resource for the kingdom.
