UNSW Materials Science, Sydney

Education
A vertical hub driving innovation in materials science and engineering

A purpose-built, state-of-the-art facility, the Materials Science and Engineering Building at UNSW strengthens the university’s global reputation in scientific research and education.

Designed to support both the School of Materials Science and Engineering and the School of Chemical Engineering, the building offers a highly flexible environment where teaching and research intersect. Laboratories, write-up areas, offices, and meeting spaces are arranged in a modular, reconfigurable system that promotes collaboration and creates seamless connections between physical and chemical sciences.

Spanning seven floors, the building integrates workspaces, laboratories, and social areas, all linked by staircases that encourage interaction and ease of movement. Asentis delivered with precision and care, fabricating and installing stainless steel and glazed balustrades, handrails, and door-open bollards, ensuring the facility reflects both innovation and craftsmanship.
