The plate steel stair at Mizuho is a striking complement to a workspace that balances tradition and modernity. As one of Japan’s three “megabanks,” Mizuho Bank occupies two floors within the Hassell-designed 60 Martin Place, a landmark Sydney address. With an extensive international network and a reputation built on its “customer first” principle, Mizuho’s workplace reflects the values of trust, sophistication, and global presence.
Designed by Gensler and delivered by MPA, the interiors celebrate the fusion of traditional and contemporary influences. This harmonious balance is expressed through a refined material palette, subtle references to Japanese design motifs, and spaces that embrace both formality and openness. The result is a workplace that conveys Mizuho’s global stature while maintaining a sense of calm and cultural depth.
Asentis’ plate steel stair sits as a sculptural focal point within the reception area. Crafted from 12mm steel plate, its balustrade doubles as a structural stringer, creating strength through simplicity. The crisp white form contrasts with warm timber treads and handrails, while integrated lighting enhances a serene ambience. More than circulation, the stair is a statement of precision and elegance—an architectural feature that elevates the workplace experience.
