Jaguar Land Rover, Sydney

A monumental staircase anchors Jaguar Land Rover’s Sydney HQ, embodying innovation, heritage, and collaboration.

Jaguar Land Rover, a multinational automotive company renowned for design excellence, sought a headquarters that reflected the values at the core of its brand: integrity, understanding, excellence, unity, and responsibility. Designed and delivered by GroupGSA, the Sydney headquarters spans multiple levels and draws inspiration from Sydney Harbour, with materials and colours echoing the Harbour Bridge, Opera House tiles, and shoreline. The workplace represents a major investment in people and culture, providing a light-filled, collaborative environment with extensive training facilities for staff and dealers.

At the heart of the seven-level building is a monumental staircase, created in collaboration with Asentis. Finished in ultra-matte black laminate with perforated balustrades referencing the heritage Land Rover Defender, the stair serves as both a functional connector and a bold architectural statement. Rising through the central atrium, it encourages movement and collaboration, while reflective materials and harbour-inspired accents reinforce its connection to place.

Beyond its sculptural presence, the staircase supports a workplace designed for agility and community. With 150 workstations for 100 staff, wellness spaces, breakout zones, and agile working areas, the headquarters embodies a culture of innovation. Sustainable elements, abundant natural light, and 13 charging stations for electric vehicles highlight Jaguar Land Rover’s forward-looking commitment to people and planet. The result is a headquarters where design, heritage, and innovation converge — with the staircase as its defining statement of connection.
