MinterEllison, Canberra

Commercial
MinterEllison’s Canberra office at Constitution Place features a stunning, innovative workspace anchored by a sophisticated spiral stair that elegantly connects two levels.

MinterEllison, Australia’s largest law firm, provides premier legal and consulting services. Previously located on National Circuit, MinterEllison moved to world-class premises at Constitution Place. Developed by Capital Property Group, this precinct is strategically positioned at the corner of London Circuit and Constitution Avenue in Canberra’s CBD. With its proximity to public transport, the court precinct, and modern amenities, Constitution Place offers an ideal home for MinterEllison in the capital.

The workplace is nothing short of stunning, complemented by sweeping district views. Spanning levels 10 and 11 of the building adjacent to the ACT Legislative Assembly, MinterEllison collaborated with Bates Smart to design workspaces that foster innovation, collaboration, and inspiration.

At the heart of this sophisticated workplace, a central spiral feature stair designed by Asentis connects the two levels vertically. Encouraging interaction and movement, the stair draws people together around the library wall and meeting zones on the lower floor while leading to the upper level, where breathtaking views of Canberra’s mountains greet visitors at the landing.

Reflecting the quiet sophistication of the design, the stair exudes elegance. The steel plate balustrades are meticulously constructed, and the two-tone palette of white and claret enhances the space’s refinement. This understated colour scheme contrasts beautifully with the feature ceiling and indigenous artworks, creating a harmonious yet dynamic aesthetic.
