A dynamic 5,000 sqm workspace for a global fintech leader, featuring a sun-drenched corner atrium, interconnected cascading stairs, and a forum staircase designed to cultivate an immersive, community-driven atmosphere.

The global fintech company is best known for its ‘buy now, pay later’ (BNPL) platform that allows in-store and online shoppers to purchase a product and pay them off over time.

In an exciting move forward, the global fin-tech company’s Melbourne office relocated to the gothic style 100 Queen St amid Melbourne’s financial and fashion district. The company engaged the award-winning architect The Studio Collaborative to design its workspace with 5,000 sqm spanning from level 5 to level 8.

The corner atrium permeates the space with light, framed with perforated metal, and inter-connected by a continual cascading stair design spanning all 3 levels. The internal staircase is a straight flight stair connecting level 5 to level 7 with a mid-landing at level 6. The structure of the stairs is fabricated with 12mm mild steel plate and finished with glazed balustrades and stainless steel handrails. The forum staircase at level 8 further fosters an immersive and connected community, creating a theatre-like auditorium zone that is totally on the money for the campus-style interior design. Above the forum staircase is lit by futuristic and industrial style lighting, which is tailored to the company’s unique branding.
